1:1 Injury Rehab
Hurt now? You and I will build a clear plan to get you back on the mat — addressing the primary drivers of the problem, so they don't keep coming back.
Physical therapy built for grapplers
Most clinicians tell you to stop rolling. I don't. I'm a licensed physical therapist for 25 years and a jiujitsu brown belt — I help grapplers train through pain, bounce back from injury, and stay dangerous on the mat well into their 40s, 50s, and beyond.
You've felt it — the tweaked knee, the stiff neck, the shoulder that clicks when you go for the grip. So you see a doctor or therapist who's never trained their life, and the advice is always the same: rest, ice, and find a new hobby.
That advice keeps you off the mat and out of the sport you love. There's a better way — one that respects how grappling actually works and builds a body that holds up to it.
What I Do
Hurt now? You and I will build a clear plan to get you back on the mat — addressing the primary drivers of the problem, so they don't keep coming back.
Strength, mobility, and recovery built around your training so you roll harder today and you keep rolling decades from now.
Self-guided plans for the spots grappling beats up most — neck, knees, shoulders, hips — that you can run from anywhere.
How It Works
Tell me what's going on and what you want to get back to. No cost, no pressure.
We map out exactly what to do — built around your training schedule and goals.
You do the work, I keep you accountable, and you stay on the mat for the long haul.
Who Is Roderick Henderson?
I'm Roderick Henderson, PT, ScD — a doctor of physical therapy and a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I've spent years on both sides of this: in the clinic helping people move without pain, and on the mat getting humbled like everyone else.
That combination is the whole point. I know what a hard round feels like, what your training week actually looks like, and why "just rest" is a non-answer. My job is to keep you doing the thing you love.
Work With MeFAQ
Almost never. The goal is to keep you training in some form while we fix the underlying issue. We modify, we don't shut you down.
Grapplers are my focus — Jiujitsu, judo, MMA, and wrestling. The principles carry over to anyone who beats their body up for sport.
Both. 1:1 rehab and coaching can run in person or online, and the online programs are fully self-guided from anywhere.
No. That's exactly who this is built for. The aim is longevity: rolling well for decades, not chasing a comeback for one tournament.
Nothing. It's a conversation to figure out what's going on and whether I'm the right fit to help.
